Why Choose a Celebrant?
Why Choose a Celebrant?
About Celebrants
Celebrants have been used for many years and are growing in popularity.
For Weddings whilst couples typically consider two traditional options: a religious ceremony or a civil ceremony conducted by a registrar, there’s a third which is a wedding Celebrant who can personalise your wedding just as you would like it, reflecting your love story, told as you see it and incorporating what you would like to.
There are no limitations as to what can be included and no restrictions on the length of the Ceremony. Vows can be customised, and special rituals such as handfasting (tying the knot), ring warming and sand ceremonies can all be incorporated into your special day. Whether you want a large gathering or a small intimate wedding, traditional or modern, themed or not themed, there are no rules or limitations when creating your special day.
For Vow renewals and naming ceremonies using a Celebrant will allow you to re-create or create that personalised ceremony that is unique to you and your loved one and families.
At Funerals we work closely with you and your chosen Funeral Director to make sure that every detail is perfect for you, meeting families and close friends we focus on ensuring that what is a deeply personal and difficult time is eased by working with you to get the Funeral Service just right for you and your loved one. We write personalised life stories and ensure that a life well lived is remembered just how those close to the person would like it to be.
In a nutshell, a Celebrant cannot legally marry you whereas a Registrar can. A Registrar conducts legally binding wedding ceremonies within the framework of Civil Law. Typically you will find that Registrars will perform weddings at licensed, registered venues, typically there is a standardised script with some personalisation however there are restrictions as to what can be included. A Registrar will also issue the wedding certificate.
In contrast as your wedding Celebrant I will create a bespoke ceremony that will celebrate your love story in a way that reflects you, your values, and your personality, allowing for greater flexibility and fun.
That is easy! If you choose to use a Celebrant for your wedding, you can undertake the legal part via your local registry office. Some couples choose to have both a full Ceremony at a Registry Office and also have a Celebrant-led occasion at a location of their choosing. However, most couples will have a basic ceremony at their local registry office with a Registrar and witnesses only and then have a beautiful Celebrant-led ceremony. Your local council should be able to provide further details of the basic ceremonies and how to book these.
Choosing me as your Celebrant to create the perfect ceremony for you is something that I feel is a great privilege to be able to do.
When I made the decision to make the transition to become a Celebrant I thought about my Core Values and when you engage me to be your Celebrant you will discover the following at the heart of everything that I do: Integrity, Confidentiality, Compassion, Professionalism and Customer Delight.
As your Celebrant you will be in good hands, with my experience working with people, writing and delivering engaging and personalised scripts and presentations, I will be there every step of the way to ensure that you get the Ceremony that is perfect for you. My friends and colleagues would describe me as calm, well-organised, energetic and having a good sense of humour so I will ensure that your Ceremony is relaxed, stress-free and a memorable occasion.
I can conduct ceremonies in a venue of your choice and even in family homes, gardens, beaches, or even your favourite local spot this is all without the restrictions of registered venues ( sometimes you may just need to ask permission first!).
I specialise in incorporating meaningful rituals into your Ceremony to include, handfasting (symbolising a strong bond), Candles (Unity in light and warmth), Rose Ceremony (gift of love), and Sand Ceremony (blending together).
Even though I live in South Yorkshire and concentrate on Ceremonies in Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, I am happy to travel to the destination of your choice.
